Lita Rossana Ford (also known as Lita Ford) is an American British guitarist, singer, and songwriter. She played lead guitar in The Runaways - a hard rock group made up mostly females in the mid-70s. The Runaways were not very successful within the United States. However, their popularity grew overseas especially in Japan. Ford started a heavy metal solo career when the band broke up in 1979. She began taking voice lessons she released her first solo album , 'Out for Blood'. It was and then followed it with 'Dancin' at the Edge'. Ford's albums were not very popular, and she stayed away for a few years. The year was 1988 when Ford released her groundbreaking success album 'Lita.' The lead single "Kiss me Deadly" as well as the ballad "Close My Eyes Forever" became huge hits. Her success was not long-lasting, as she disappeared for many years. In 1995, she released 'Black and then a couple of years later, 'Wicked Wonderland" was released, she returned to the scene. Her most recent album "Time Capsule" was released in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine awarded her the prestigious Certified Guitar Legend Award.
